WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

I see clients from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. These hours and days vary, feel free to email and ask about my upcoming availability.

I currently have some slots available for new clients.

HOW DOES THIS PROCESS START?

Message or email me to schedule a free 30-minute zoom consult, to get a sense of if I feel like the right therapist for you! A consult is a great time to ask any and all questions about therapy, my practice, or to share a bit about what brings you to therapy. (There are no stupid questions, seriously)

If you've decided to schedule an intake session, I will gather your name, email, and phone number. Then, you will receive an email giving you access to your Client Portal to complete paperwork and payment info. You're done for now!

The morning of your session, you will receive an email with a link to our session for that day. Click the link at the time of our session, and we're off!

Long Answer: I require 1 full session prior to writing a letter to your physician. As a gender-affirming therapist, I am happy to support you as you explore your gender identity.
Note: not all physicians require a letter from a therapist for HRT, check with your physician prior to requesting a letter.

WHAT IS A "DEPTH AND HUMANISTIC APPROACH" TO THERAPY?

Depth psychology inquires about what is going on "below the surface" of your everyday experience. We use the heart and soul to explore one's unconscious themes, dreams, images and narratives. Simply put - this is a therapy with heart and soul, not just the mind.

Humanistic counseling means that the therapist always maintains: Empathy, Genuineness, Unconditional Care, and Nonjudgement for the client. You are always safe here.

I combine both of these traditions when working with you, these are the 2 main lenses with with I help you explore your challenges, and get us moving towards solutions.

CAN I TEXT OR EMAIL YOU?

Yes! For all scheduling and billing matters - Text and Email are OKAY.

For any therapeutic concerns or issues you'd like to bring into therapy - please make note of them and bring them into session. Email and text are not HIPAA-verified modes of communication.

My practice does not operate like BetterHelp or TalkSpace, so texting and calling with therapeutic content is not acceptable. Please feel free to schedule a session if something comes up sooner than expected.

To ensure your personal information and counseling concerns are compliant with privacy standards, please keep texting and email limited to scheduling and billing content.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "COUNSELING" AND "THERAPY"?

No difference. Counseling and therapy are two words for talk-therapy.

WHAT IS THERAPY LIKE?

Talk therapy looks different for every individual. I will work with you to establish a counseling goal (Ex: reduce anxiety symptoms) by breaking it into manageable pieces (Ex: try out 1 coping mechanisms for anxiety). We explore problems, listen for solutions, and collaborate regularly on what you are getting from our time together, and if any changes need to be made.

WHAT'S IS A GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE?

(Updated January 2022, Subject to Change)

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visitwww.cms.gov/nosurprises

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to reschedule, please reach out at least 24 hours in advance. If you need to cancel, please do so prior to 24 hours before session or the full fee will be billed.
